Mikrotik Device Configuration Guide
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for configuring your Mikrotik router using our dashboard's integrated configuration tool.
Prerequisites
- A Mikrotik router (any RouterOS compatible device)
- Basic network setup (power and internet connection)
- Access to your Hotspot Manager dashboard
Step 1: Access the Configuration Tool
- Log in to your Hotspot Manager dashboard
- Navigate to Devices section in the sidebar menu
- Select the device you want to configure, or create a new device record
- Click the Mikrotik Configuration button in the device control panel
Step 2: Basic Network Settings
The configuration tool allows you to customize all essential network parameters:

Interface Configuration
- Set up bridge interfaces for your hotspot
- Configure wireless settings (SSID, frequency, security)
- Set appropriate network modes and protocols

- Define IP address pools for DHCP
- Configure network address ranges

Step 4: Export Configuration
- After configuring all settings, click the Export Configuration button

script file will be generated and downloaded automatically - This file contains all necessary commands for your Mikrotik device
Step 5: Apply Configuration to Your Device
- Access your Mikrotik router via Winbox or WebFig
- Go to Files section and upload the downloaded
.rsc
file - Open a terminal and type:
/import file=filename.rsc
- Wait for the configuration to be applied (usually takes 1-2 minutes)
- Your device will reboot with the new configuration
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues during configuration:
- Ensure your Mikrotik device is running a supported RouterOS version (6.x or later)
- Check that all physical connections are secure
- Try importing with verbose option:
/import file=filename.rsc verbose=yes
- If problems persist, use the Remote Configuration option for expert assistance
